Designing for Deep Work: Why Acoustics Matter More Than Silence
Acoustic comfort, daylight and tactile materials in a working café.

Designing Enclave Main in Legazpi Village came down to one question: how do you build a room that feels as warm as a neighborhood café without the clatter of grinders and dishes?
01The trouble with absolute silence
In a perfectly silent room, every small sound stands out. A dropped pen or a keyboard tap can break a deep focus block. Continuous, soft, warm-frequency sound works as a cushion instead.
02Acoustic felt and organic timber
We layered natural wool felt baffles into the ceiling, chose solid oak tables that absorb vibration, and placed the phone booths away from the open worktables.
03Light that follows the day
Warm 3000K architectural lighting pairs with tall windows over Rada Street, so the room changes gently from morning to evening.
A great workspace is invisible. When the chair, the sound, the light and the coffee work together, only your ideas remain.
